Start with the investment mandate
Family offices do not share one investment strategy. A founder should establish whether a potential investor considers the company’s sector, geography, stage and investment size. Some opportunities may fit direct investment, while others will not fit a particular mandate.
Explain the long-term business case
Make the business model, cash needs, growth opportunities and principal risks easy to understand. Discuss the expected investment horizon and potential future liquidity without promising an exit. Explain what support you seek beyond capital and why that support is relevant to your plan.
Submit a focused introduction
Start with a non-confidential pitch deck and a clear funding request. Cubin can assess whether an opportunity may fit investors in its network. A submission is not a promise of an introduction, and we do not publish a family-office contact database on this page.
A focused family-office introduction
Complete this brief before preparing a longer presentation. Where an investor’s mandate is not publicly documented or confirmed, write “not confirmed”; location alone does not establish investment appetite.
Do not describe a family office as interested, committed or part of your funding round without that office’s confirmation. A concise, relevant introduction is more useful than a generic claim that your company suits every long-term investor.
Before fixing the amount, size the funding request.
For an established business, prepare the earnings and ownership discussion.
For governance preparation, prepare ownership and reporting questions.
Questions before submitting your company
Do all family offices invest in early-stage companies?
No single mandate applies to every family office. Establish the stage, sector, geography and investment-size fit before preparing a detailed approach. A family-office label alone does not establish appetite for your company.
Can we obtain a list of family-office email addresses here?
This guide is not a contact directory. Introduce the business through the Cubin pitch form so the opportunity can be considered for direct investment or a potential network introduction. An introduction or investment is not guaranteed.
How Cubin considers an opportunity
Cubin invests its own capital and works with an international network of private investors, family offices and investment firms. Our investment focus is USD 1–30 million, from angel and early-stage opportunities through growth and private equity. We assess business quality, financial performance, growth, valuation and risk. Direct investment and investor introductions are different outcomes; neither is guaranteed by submitting a pitch.
What to include in your pitch
Send a short company overview, location, sector, stage, amount sought and intended use of funds. Include revenue or traction where available, ownership information and the next milestone. Attach a non-confidential PDF pitch deck, up to 3 MB. The form is in English and does not require a member account. Your submission is sent to Cubin with the guide page you came from. Do not include sensitive customer data in your initial submission.
